Update from Wellesbourne
When the water traps were checked at Wellesbourne today there were:
- 88 male and 10 femaie cabbage root flies
- 74 bean seed flies
- 0 flea beetles
- 18 pollen beetles
- 3 cabbage stem weevils
- 3 cabbage stem flea beetles
- 1 cabbage seed weevils
There were 36 carrot flies on the sticky traps.
We are now also sampling for cabbage root flies eggs (15 cauliflower plants) and 56 eggs were laid between 23 and 26 April.
No moths were captured in our pheromone traps (diamond-back moth, silver Y moth, turnip moth, cabbage moth).
AHDB Aphid News
The latest edition of AHDB Aphid News has been released for the week ending 21 April. The numbers of aphids captured in the netwrok of suction traps have increased considerably:
- Peach-potato aphid - captured at 7 sites
- Potato aphid - captured at 4 sites
- Cabbage aphid - captured at 3 sites
- Willow-carrot aphid - captured at 5 sites
- Pea aphid - captured at 5 sites
- Black-baen aphid - 4 sites
