Update from Wellesbourne

We have now started checking the water traps twice a week.

When the water traps were checked at Wellesbourne on 11th April there were:

  • 20 male and 4 femaie cabbage root flies
  • 33 bean seed flies
  • 5 flea beetles
  • 45 pollen beetles

When all the traps were checked at Wellesbourne on 15th April there were:

  • 90 male and 7 femaie cabbage root flies
  • 83 bean seed flies
  • 7 flea beetles
  • 59 pollen beetles
  • 5 cabbage stem weevils
  • 2 cabbage stem flea beetles

There were 4 carrot flies on the sticky traps.

We are now also sampling for cabbage root flies eggs (15 cauliflower plants). None were laid up to 15th April.
