Trapping pests at Wellesbourne

We set up traps for brassica pests (yellow water trap) and carrot fly (sticky trap) on 7 April. The traps were checked yesterday. There were no carrot flies and no cabbage root flies but in the 3 water traps there were:

  • 156 bean seed flies
  • 5 pollen beetles
  • 4 flea beetles
  • 1 cabbage seed weevil

All of the beetles will have overwintered as adults.
