Pest update from Wellesbourne
When the water traps in the swede plot were checked today there were:
- 30 male and 8 female cabbage root flies
- 10 bean seed flies
- 0 flea beetles
- Approx 2,550 pollen beetles
- 13 cabbage stem weevils
- 8 cabbage stem flea beetles
- 1 cabbage seed weevil
There were 8 carrot flies on the 3 sticky traps in the new plot for 2019.
285 cabbage root fly eggs were laid between 2 and 5 July (around 15 plants).
2 diamond-back moths and 2 turnip moths were captured. No moths were captured in our other pheromone traps (silver Y moth, cabbage moth). There are 2 traps for each species.
We also caught 7 diamond-back moths on 5 carrot fly traps.
