Pest update from Wellesbourne

When the water traps in the swede plot were checked today there were:

• 58 male and 121 female cabbage root flies
• 83 bean seed flies
• 12 flea beetles
• 444 pollen beetles
• 57 cabbage stem weevils
• 18 cabbage stem flea beetles
• 1 cabbage seed weevil
• 1 small white butterfly
  

There were 326 carrot flies on the 3 sticky traps in the new plot for 2019.

117 cabbage root fly eggs were laid between 16 and 19 July (around 15 plants).

2 diamond-back moths, 1 turnip moth, 1 silver Y motj and no cabbage moths were captured in pheromone traps. There are 2 traps for each species.

We also caught 5 diamond-back moths on 5 carrot fly traps.
