Pest update from Wellesbourne

When the water traps in the swede plot were checked today there were:

• 124 male and 62 female cabbage root flies
• 75 bean seed flies
• 11 flea beetles
• 618 pollen beetles
• 59 cabbage stem weevils
• 0 cabbage stem flea beetles
• 0 cabbage seed weevils
• 1 small white butterfly
  

There were 89 carrot flies on the 3 sticky traps in the new plot for 2019.

660 cabbage root fly eggs were laid between 12 and 16 July (around 15 plants).

3 diamond-back moths and 1 turnip moth were captured. No moths were captured in our other pheromone traps (silver Y moth, cabbage moth). There are 2 traps for each species.

We also caught 7 diamond-back moths on 5 carrot fly traps.
