Pest update from Wellesbourne

These are the numbers of insects captured between 7th and 10th July.

Yellow water traps (3)

  • 15 male and 11 female cabbage root fly
  • 31 bean seed fly
  • 4 flea beetle
  • 274 pollen beetles
  • 4 cabbage stem weevil
  • 0 cabbage seed weevil
  • 1 cabbage stem flea beetle
  • 2 small white butterflies

Sticky traps for carrot fly (3)

  • 39 carrot fly

Pheromone traps - 2 per species

  • Diamond-back moth 0
  • Silver Y moth 0
  • Turnip moth (cutworm) 0

16 cabbage root fly eggs on 15 cauliflower plants.
