Pest update from Wellesbourne

These are the numbers of insects captured between 21st and 24th July.

Yellow water traps (3)

  • 21 male and 8 female cabbage root fly
  • 12 bean seed fly
  • 46 flea beetle
  • 152 pollen beetles
  • 11 cabbage stem weevil
  • 0 cabbage seed weevil
  • 0 cabbage stem flea beetle
  • 2 small white butterfly

Sticky traps for carrot fly

  • 20 carrot fly on 2 traps

Pheromone traps - 2 per species

  • Diamond-back moth 0
  • Silver Y moth 0
  • Turnip moth (cutworm) 2

3 cabbage root fly eggs on 15 'old' cauliflower plants and none on 15 'new' plants.
