Pest update from Wellesbourne

When the water traps in the swede plot were checked today there were:

• 81 male and 43 female cabbage root flies
• 29 bean seed flies
• 0 flea beetles
• Approx 3900 pollen beetles
• 26 cabbage stem weevils
• 2 cabbage stem flea beetles
• 1 cabbage seed weevil
  

There were 63 carrot flies on the 3 sticky traps in the new plot for 2019.

258 cabbage root fly eggs were laid between 5 and 9 July (around 15 plants).

1 diamond-back moth and 8 turnip moths were captured. No moths were captured in our other pheromone traps (silver Y moth, cabbage moth). There are 2 traps for each species.

We also caught 14 diamond-back moths on 5 carrot fly traps.
