Pest update from Wellesbourne
When the water traps were checked at Wellesbourne today there were:
Traps in last year's swede plot
- 19 male and 12 femaie cabbage root flies
- 34 bean seed flies
- 2 flea beetles
- 189 pollen beetles
- 5 cabbage stem weevils
- 0 cabbage stem flea beetles
- 0 cabbage seed weevils
Traps in the new swede plot
- 21 male and 3 femaie cabbage root flies
- 47 bean seed flies
- 24 flea beetles
- 24 pollen beetles
- 1 cabbage stem weevils
- 5 cabbage stem flea beetles
- 0 cabbage seed weevils
There were 206 carrot flies on the sticky traps.
68 cabbage root fly eggs were laid between 3 and 7 May (around 15 plants).
No moths were captured in our pheromone traps (diamond-back moth, silver Y moth, turnip moth, cabbage moth).
