Pest update 31st March
There was 1 bean seed fly in the allotment traps (3) and 3 bean seed flies in the garden traps (6) plus one pollen beetle.
March 30, 2020
Pest update 30th March
One bean seed fly today - in the 3 water traps in the allotments.
Another 5 water traps were set up on 28th March in my garden. By today (2 days) they had capturee=d:
- 14 bean seed fly
- 1 female cabbage root fly
- 1 pollen beetle
March 26, 2020
Pest update
Because of the coronavirus situation, and the closure of the University of Warwick premises, the 3 yellow water traps have been moved to the allotments in the village of Tysoe, 10 miles from Wellesbourne. The aim is to empty the traps daily - on my exercise route.
The traps were set up yesterday and captured 4 pollen beetles.
March 17, 2020
Pest update from Wellesbounre
In our 3 water traps emptied today there were:
- 28 bean seed flies
- 74 pollen beetles
- 1 cabbage stem weevil
There were no carrot flies on our orange sticky traps.

Totals from 3 yellow water traps on 10th March:

Pest update from Wellesbourne
We have trapped a few more bean seed flies. Totals from 3 yellow water traps:
3 March 4
No carrot flies or cabbage root flies have been trapped.
We've also been counting the aphids on our overwintering carrots again:
3 March 2.7 per plant
All of these are wingless.
