Pest updates from Wellesbourne

Between Friday (15th) and Monday (18th) we found:

  • 37 carrot flies on traps in this year's carrots (3 traps)
  • Total of 22 cabbage root fly eggs from around 15 cauliflower plants.
  • There were no turnip moths, no diamond-back moths and 3 silver Y moths (2 traps per species).

The 3 yellow water traps caught:

  • 10 male and 10 female cabbage root flies
  • 32 bean seed flies
  • 20 flea beetles
  • 3 small white butterflies
  • 2 cabbage stem weevils

Between Monday (18th) and Friday (22nd) we found:

  • 50 carrot flies on traps in this year's carrots (3 traps)
  • Total of 2 cabbage root fly eggs from around 15 cauliflower plants.
  • There was 4 turnip moths, no diamond-back moths and 3 silver Y moths (2 traps per species).

The contents of the 3 yellow water traps have still to be counted.
