Pests at Wellesbourne
Pests recovered today included:
- 18 carrot flies (3 traps)
- 11 cabbage root fly eggs (15 plants)
- 38 bean seed flies (3 traps)
- 29 pollen beetles (3 traps)
- 2 turnip moths (2 traps)
Large narcissus flies are still emerging.
Rothamsted Suction Trap Captures

The latest aphid bulletin (10-16 June) has just been released.
- No cabbage aphids have been caught in the suction traps.
- The willow–carrot aphid was caught at fourteen sites with numbers increasing at nine sites and highest at Preston (138) and Broom’s Barn (183).
- The first currant–lettuce aphid was caught at Rothamsted - none caught elsewhere.
- Potato aphids were caught at six sites in low numbers.
- Peach-potato aphids were caught at four sites.
