Pest update from Wellesbourne

Between 14th and 18th September our 3 yellow water traps captured:

  • Cabbage root flies - 79 male and 20 female
  • Bean seed flies - 46
  • Pollen beetles - 19
  • Flea beetles - 50
  • Cabbage stem weevil - 0
  • Cabbage seed weevil - 0
  • Cabbage stem flea beetle - 1

We caught 5 carrot flies on 3 sticky traps in our second sowing of carrots.

There were no diamond-back moths, no silver Y moths, no cabbage moths and 7 turnip moths in our traps (2 traps per pest).

There were 41 cabbage root fly eggs around our 15 brassica plants.
