Pest update from Wellesbourne
Today we found:
- 15 male and 6 female cabbage root flies (3 water traps)
- 67 bean seed flies (3 traps)
- 23 carrot flies (3 traps) in our new carrots
- 85 cabbage root fly eggs (15 cauliflower plants)
- 27 brassica flea beetles (3 traps)
- 5 pollen beetles (3 traps)
- 7 cabbage stem weevils (3 traps)
- 6 large white butterflies (3 traps)
- 14 small white butterflies (3 traps)
- 2 turnip moths (2 traps)
- 1 diamond-back moth (2 traps)
Updated aphid bulletins
The latest editions of the Rothamsted Suction Trap Bulletin and AHDB Aphid News are attached and relate to the week ending 9 August. In general the numbers of aphid species important to vegetable and salad crops are low.
