Pest update from Wellesbourne
Between Friday (6th) and Tuesday (10th) we captured:
- 161 carrot flies on traps in this year's crop of carrots (3 traps)
We collected a total of 8 cabbage root fly eggs from around 15 cauliflower plants (planted 15 April). The 3 water traps caught:
- 0 male and 9 female cabbage root flies
- 63 bean seed flies
- 19 pollen beetle
- 68 flea beetles
- 6 cabbage stem weevil
- 4 cabbage seed weevil
There was 1 silver Y moth and 1 turnip moth (cutworm) (2 pheromone traps per species).
Today there were 2 winged, 3 wingless and 3 parasitised willow-carrot aphids on 3 x 0.5 metre lengths of row of carrots.
