But seriously, programming really isn't like building

Uncannily, a few days ago i was talking to an important person in the University and this issue came up. The claim is that the Uni has done lots of big successful projects, but most of them have been building projects. The danger is that because of this all other projects will get treated like building projects, despite the fact that they involve messy complex stuff like people and culture. So it's really important for us to make sure that people understand that IT projects are not like building projects at all.

Any thoughts about where Prince fits into this?

I could say something controversial, but that would just be a blatant attempt to keep my blog top of the charts.
