Children's author Eoin Colfer has been commissioned to write a sixth instalment of the Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy series.

This annoys me. The post-mortem film adaptation I could forgive, despite the total cop out with regards to Zaphod's two heads and the guide graphics having apparently been done in Flash and totally lacking the charm and style of the TV series' hand drawn version. It was always Adams' wish to see a film version made and it was at least based on his screenplay. Also it had Zooey Deschanel. But why do another book? Hitchhiker's really doesn't need another chapter. I can't see how there is even a sensible point to continue from given the last book ended with all the characters being killed when every version of the Earth in every timeline/probability/whatever was destroyed.

Grrrrr.
