Motor Fuel Ration Book

Motor Fuel Ration Book. Unused. There's no dates anywhere in it but I'm guessing circa 1940s. Anyone know? Found whilst going through boxes of papers and photos retrieved from an elderly relative's flat.
Oldest dated item found in the boxes thus far is a parish magazine from 1896 that mentions the birth of my great-grandad.

There’s a clue: “Her Majesty” so it’s either before 1900 or after 1952. Think Suez crisis…

I’d guess Suez as well; during the crisis, a system of fuel rationing was set up but not implemented. As well as the ‘her majesty’ giveaway, I’d suggest that the quality of the paper and the printing look too good for WWII rationing.

This item is 1973 at the time of the oil crisis. It is certainly not ‘wartime’ as some are selling it for. Sadly, I’m old enough to have been driving in 73!
