8–1.30pm Biomed grid

Got photoboard themes written on board for people to vote.

Photocopier queries, help with printer credits, one person borrowed Grey’s cards from cupboard. Reshelved books.

BMG 11–4

Hello!

Quite a busy day with people in from almost 11.

I got on with some adviser admin and voted for the Christmas get together on doodle. I also finally got onto moodle after some help from Phil on Thursday and replied to the clin skills forum and did one of the assessments. I kept the rest for late night fun later in the week!

PEOPLE WANTED ME!!! Very exciting! I got to show people how to use the panaboard and suggest some useful books for neuro revision which I reshelved when they left :)

Can we keep an eye out for helpful students reshelving books and stop them please! I found quite a few in the wrong place today and had to go on a hunt for a few others.

Matt is here and ready to go!

The gates were serviced this morning.

A student is looking for a pink folder with a label “Foundations” on it. He is not sure whether he lost it in the grid though. His contact email is d.davies@warwick.ac.uk.

Another student wished our printers could print self adhesive sticker labels. He needed it for posting a parcel. I helped him print out the label and tape it on his package.

Francesca asked me to give feedback on her PowerPoint presentation of her internship at Warwick. I loved it! It was sad to say bye-byes to her later, but hope we will see her again at the Learning Grid’s anniversary in April. Some scrumptious cakes from Francesca’s surprise party are on the advisers’ desk, help yourselves…

Finally, the birthday girl is here in a really ‘scary’ Halloween hat. Happy birthday dear Marta! :)

UH 10:00–14:00 14/10/13

It’s reasonably busy in here, but been pretty quiet in terms of problems. Handful of card issues and some poor soul had their URSS poster rained on, but not much else to report.

Am I right in saying that only staff can log on to the two computers on the adviser side of the desk? If so, it might be worth sticking a staff only sticker on the left computer, people eye up the large desk and go for it only to be left disappointed when told they wont be able to log on. If not I’ve just been being unreasonably mean and anti-social to several users this morning, hey ho.

LG 12–6

Well, library and PG Hub closed today for bank holiday so Grid was full to capacity (even had to shuffle people around as they argued about work stations, haha). Plenty of printer questions, also got to help someone with video work for an hour or so so that was nice. Hopefully won’t be too much of a mess tomorrow but I guess we’ll see!

Black watch in lost property.

BMG 12–6

Getting ready to close up, had 2 users in here for an hour or so each today, no questions just complaints about some of the slow computers.

2 of the windows at the end where the whiteboards are do not open properly, that’s about all there is to report.

Think this is my last shift at the BMG til September. Sad times.

As promised on Monday, I got to help Dean and Jaquie to clean up the studio. Otherwise, just empty grid. There was a group of Physics and Maths nerds that were really noisy and annoying, but they have left now!!! yey!!

Happy Evalds is here now to take over,

Rootes 2:30–7

Was busy rushing out the door and forgot to blog.

Quite a quiet shift no real queries apart from printers and someone asking of hot drinks were ok. One guy came in asking for cellotape because someone trod on his friends glasses, Water tray is now less of an issue which is nice.

Matt was there when I left, on my way home now for the last bit of clinicals revision
