Cycle parking ideas?
The University is surveying usage and needs for cycle parking across campus as part of the Carbon Management Project. Hannah Jones (H.S.B.Jones@warwick.ac.uk) is the researcher conducting the survey and would appreciate your comments on where cycle parking needs improvement and also suggestions for designs (covered, secure, etc). Please send suggestions directly to her.
P.S. If you are wondering what Warwick University can do about reducing the amount of carbon it releases into the atmosphere, see suggestions

Secure parking for cycles is essential, not just a covered area. With quick release wheels, lights, saddles, speedos etc it is not practical to leave bikes in an open environment. This is a sentiment shared by a number of colleagues. The university has to take this seriously if it wants to encourage staff/students to cycle in.

I hope you have forwarded this observation to Hannah Jones!
Personally I get around this problem by having a utility bicycle for work, shopping, pubbing etc. and another bicycle for sporting use. Everything on the utility bicycle is bolted on.
