Something to share

It's simply different from what I usually listen to. It's different from itself in that each song is a seperate entity. I like it!

Mama don't smoke,
That much dope,
Don't you worry about me.
Mama don't smoke,
That much dope,
Don't you worry about me.
I only get high about twice a day,
It helps to keep my blues away.

Imagine…

I've been translating articles on reforms in China for the past two days. As reforms go, there are usually big numbers involved in the article. For a moment I tried to imagine what would 14,105,099,000,000 Chinese Yuan (total amount of savings in year 2005) look like. And then I remembered how I was being told by a Russian 'friend' of mine a convenient way to imagine the 1,3 billion population in China:

"Some researchers in America said that if you queue all of the Chinese in a neat column with three people in each row and start killing them, you won't be able to kill them all, because while you'll be killing the first million of Chinese, the ones at the back of the column would have the time to produce another million of Chinese!! Imagine that! Cool, innit?"

Admittedly, it didn't help me realize the magnitude of the Chinese population for a bit. It did, however, help me understand all the depth of perversity of the human mind.
