A hundred Pounds Week!

A hundred Pounds Week!

Why should we do shopping during Xmas?

When I was in London, especially during Chrismas, I could always see the young and the old, and men and the women hurry to enjoy their journey of shopping in the street. They carried their small or big bag with their upward face, ignoring the cold weather. They seemed to very enjoy their ‘hunting’ within big ‘Sale’ on their different bags. I didn’t know how to describe what kinds of expression on their face, but one thng I could be sure that they might think they did a big deal today! It was an another kind of celebrating form, and might be more exciting!

But why should we do shopping during Xmas?

Not only because differnent kinds of stores signed ‘BIG SALE’ or ‘HALF PRICE’, but also I thought it was a perfect moment of spending their money without any excuses or limits. It was totolly ‘legal’ .haha^^
At this time, nobody would care the actual price given by the store, but nearly all most people believed they could buy ‘low Price’.

Anyway, Happy New year to everybody!

Today I learn (Watching a movie—Pearl Harbor)

poster

‘take a pick’—choose sth/sb. as you wish
eg: We have enough money to buy any DVD player this store has, so take your pick.

‘that is a bad line’—line (specially to the sex) to show your good feeling.
eg: I didn’t give her my telephone number, because she used a terrible line.
I’m not good at meeting girls because I don’t have any pick up lines.

‘He is a ladies man.’—the man is popular by the women.
eg: My brother is a good looking guy and a smooth talker. Really he is kind of a ladies man!

‘She is totally buying it.’—buy here means believe
eg: He sais he could help me get a job at this company but I don’t buy it. He doesn’t have that much influence.
She told me she loves me but I don’t buy it. I sae her at dinner with her ex- last night.

Xuemei's Simple Room

I hope my room is simple as possible as it can.

I hope there would be a big spring bed, a soft sofa, a desk, a chair, a light, a lot of books, a big bright and clean window and a computer in my room. A big spring bed, in the corner, gives me a comfortable place to rest. When I feel tired, I can lie on it and have a sound sleep. I hope I can have a soft white sofa, beside the bed. When I want to read or just want to have a sit, I can fall in it. A desk, a chair and a light which are at the window are necessary. I need them to read different kinds interesting books. I want a lot of different kinds of books most. They can rich my brain and give me the most common happiness. Also I hope I have a big, bright clean window, and I need it to bring light and warm to my room. I want a computer as well. I use it to connect with the whole of the word, and get information in time.

Swimming & Yoga

Swimming and Yoga are my favourite sports. They are both aerobics exercises. In addition, I think they belong to ‘Zero Damnification’ exercises, of course, if you are careful.

When I see a pool of water, I always feel quite good. At that moment, I can forget all the pressure. When I deeply sink in the water, I am surrounded by water in all directions. I enjoy very much.

Yoga, really differs from swimming, but can relax me a lot. Absolutely slow actions or movements, making my soul peaceful, bring me a lot of time to stop thinking. A rather good exercise.

By now, I haven’t got enough time to take them every day, but I hope, if possible, I can designed them into my daily arrangement.SwimYoga

What am I studying for? What should I learn in the university?

What am studying for? And what should I learn in the university? Those seem serious questions! Here I don’t mean what we’ve learned in daily lectures, but what we learn behind them. I think the tutors are like good guides here, and they are totally different from the tutors in my country. I think here, under their guide, I learn a lot of useful methods, although sometimes their methods puzzle or surprise me a lot. And trying to use their methods, hmmm, really useful!

Share with my friends—DON'T CRY FOR ME AGENTINA

When I heard this song, I felt it very majestic. Enjoy without any words.

It won¡¯t be easy, you¡¯ll think it strange
When I try to explain how I feel
That I still need your love after all that I¡¯ve done
You won¡¯t believe me
All you will see is a girl you once knew
Although she¡¯s dressed up to the nines at sixes and sevens with you
I had to let it happen, I had to change
Couldn¡¯t stay all my life down that hill
Looking out of the window, staying out of the sun
So I chose freedom
Running around trying everything mew
But noting impressed me at all
I never expected it to

Don¡¯t cry for me Argentina
The truth is I never left you
All through my wild days
My mad existence
I kept my promise
Don¡¯t keep your distance
And as for fortune, and as for fame
I never invited them in
Though it seemed to be the world they were all I desired
They are illusions
They¡¯re not the solutions they promised to be
The answer was here all the time
I love you and hope you love me
Don¡¯t cry for me Argentina¡¡
Don¡¯t cry for me Argentina
The truth is I never left you
All through my wild days
My mad existence
I kept my promise
Don¡¯t keep your distance

Have I said too much? There¡¯s nothing more I can think of to say to you
But all you have to do is looking at me to know that every word is truth

Be A Good Translator

Being a good translator is my current hope for the future carrer, because I think it has three characteristics. They are what I’m interested in, good salary, and stable social status.

Translation is my interest. For me, translation is not only the work of translating, but also it is a meaningful work of transmitting cultures to more people. And it can make more and more people share the advanced knowlege or skills. A good translator can reduce the diversity of language and make it much easier to understand. From this point, I think translation is a meaningful work, and also that is what I’m interested in.

Good salary is another reason I concern. No matter what kind of translator I choose, such as, simultaneous interpreting, wriiten translation, or oral translation, the salary is relatively high at least in my country. If I can get a high income job, I have the ability to do other meaningful things. So I choose it.

Finally, stable social status is an important factor I think. Comparing with other careers, I think translation, which has its comprehensive skills and high salary, is considered as a good career or a respectful career. Otherwise, no matter how long I will be in this career, I believe I can relatively easy find my next job.

In a word, I ‘d like to be a translator, and I believe it can make my life better.
