My impressions in UK
As I've been here for more than 1 month, I found that it was so different between China and Britain. All the things were new to me when I came here for pre-sessional course, however, I feel better now. Two aspects that surprised me most were the food, and the time of work and rest of the public.
At the first time, when I tasted the food here, I felt a little bit confused. Because the food between China and Britain were so different, there were sundry food in China, but I can only find fish and chips in my meals here. The rice here was also different, it was tasted dry, and milk-toast. What's more, I found so many freid food, and I was surpprised that the meat here was cheaper than China, but the vegetable here was much more expensive than China by contratries.
Another aspect surprised me a lot was the time of work and rest of the public. The stores always open at 9:00am and close at 5:00pm in UK, especially the weekend, some stores and supermarkets are closed at 2:00pm, it's so early, so people always buy the food or something else before the closing time, the avail of the people who work fore the stores or 24-hour supermarkets are protected by the government, they needn't work too late, but the rest of the people can not buy anything they need at the weekend or late at night.
The thing is, different countries have different cultures, it is necessary to accept the different cultures when I live in Warwick, respect the culture and deal with the other students well who from other countries is one of the best way for me to enjoy the life here.

I’m not surprised that you found the food very different – it is! Unfortunately there is no way to find cheap, good English food except in a home where someone can cook (which is getting rare!) so I’m afraid your impression of English food will not change. It’s also frustrating that the shops close so early – but there are 24 hour supermarkets now which never used to be the case.
