thanks Guys…

Follow-up to editing… from Warwick Shootout

this is really useful feedback – and is in line with the original Shootout idea/ideals. I had, perhaps, become over-influenced by the Warwick techies who REALLY want to play in editing suites.
Also XP editing software can cause mayhem with Warwick computers.. so probably a bad idea for that reason anyway.
In short – a victory for the in-camera school of thought, which puts much more emphasis on creativity and/or pre-planning to produce results.

The whole editing issue continues to bubble up… There is a hard core of potential teams that really wants to break out of the editing constraints. They point out that access to straightforward digital video editing is available as part of Microsoft XP as well as other sofware packages.
This has triggered quite a bit of brain working in techie and non-techie parts of the Shootout team.
This is our curent thinking:
Within quite strict time constraints we will permit the use of simple home editing software (available in Learning Grid) to produce more fine-tuned results within the 'linear – editing' rule.
Is this a helpful concession??
