Thoughts in Knowledge……………

Authors support that there are two types of Knowledge including tacit and explicit……….. However I am thinking of that a lot and I am tending to support the argument that explicit knowledge is not knowledge.

Can knowledge be transmitted? I really do not know. . . . . For understanding that we have to see the difference between knowledge and information………. Knowledge requires information and theory to be created (see Deming information is not knowledge). . . . Are all these that we read in the papers knowledge. . . . .. I think it is information. We filter them with our theory and create our personal (tacit Knowledge)………….

There are authors who supported that the difference between explicit knowledge and information is meaningless and that they are almost the same…………..

That is a great dilemma. . . . If we do not clarify their differences, we cannot manage knowledge since data and info constitute the basis of knowledge pyramid………...

  1. Yes, I agree. But how about ideas ?....What is ideas ?....If some ideas we cannot measure them now, are those ideas pointless?...

  2. I think the question directly goes back to how u define knowledge… it is difficult to sometimes draw the line between knowledge and information. But sometimes explicit knowledge can be transmitted, for example in a lecture.. when lecturer imparts his knowledge to his fellow student.. he has already process the theory and the informtion and transformed into knowledge… based on ofcourse his abilities ansd skills as a professor he is then able to extract this knowledge into students. Yeah, I know often the students dont take it in the form of knowledge but information but other times its vice versa..
But then again the question comes..should we trust the knowledge/information that has been given? or should we question it? should we simply trust him for what he is imparting or we have our own individual roles to play here?
Very interesting thought Vagaelis.. leaves me confused too..

  3. I see your point Adeti but i realy do not have an answer in that question. . . I think that we do not take as a granted what the tutors say in a lecture. We filter that through our own theory… ... . . It is complicated…............

If a tutor say to me it is good to establish an annual metir system for that and that and that reasons i will not accept that. Because i take this information i filter that through my own theory and i do not believe on that…...... I will counter-argue “Have you ever heard about Deming. :P
