Knowledge culture…………. Eliminate fear………

Knowledge culture is regarded as the culture that anyone feels free to share and utilize knowledge…………. What I realized is that leadership plays fundamental role on that. More specifically eliminating fear and allow people feel proud of what they do is important. In addition taking risks and not be afraid for punishment in case of a mistake allow employees learn more and faster.

I correlated that with schools. I do not know why. Probably because I have linked schools with the process of learning. Ok it is not like that in the schools but is should be. So which are the cases? On one hand there are teachers that act as traditional teachers punishing, using scores as assessment method etc. On the other hand there are teachers that are acting as coacher or mentors to the kids and using scores for feedback by utilizing the power of self-assessment as well. . . .(It is like MBE vs other masters).

SO what do we choose for our organization? I searched for that in net and came across a research that took place in a school. It was proved that students that felt less stress and received a mentoring leadership style from their teachers, were able to learn more and faster………………

    To elaborate on this, we experienced something similar in the MOC simulation. Our organization decided to change the design of a product, and this idea was initiated by a shop-floor guy saying ‘its too dufficut for me to make’. Now here, we are all colleagues and are just playing roles of being at different levels of the hierarchy, so it is easy to say without fear; but, in reality how many shop-floor people would have the courage to say this and how many manufacturing managers would consider it as a positive input in decision making rather than just thinking of means to punish the shop-floos guy for being a rebel?

  2. Awal you are right on that….......... However i think that taking feedback by the floor employees is essential. . . .It is responsibility of management to encourage employees to speak…....... They will notdo it by themselves. I think that in MBE we learn that and we will implement it in the future!!!!!
