…or should that be musak?

I was in a furniture shop yesterday and whilst humming along to the music playing I realised something wasn't quite right, i.e. the voice singing the Alicia Keys track wasn't that of Alicia Keys. Now call me a music snob if you like, but if I hear a song, I like to hear the original singer or (at the very least) a decent cover. This was just a random collection of songs that weren't done very well…and not even songs that were easy to cover, but things like Gorillaz!

Anyone else got any pet peeves when it comes to music?

  1. You know what gets on my tit? Sampling. It's just plagerism really, since full citations aren't given in the song titles isn't?

Aside anything else it's just lazy.

  2. Well I suppose it depends on whether they got permission in the first place…but I suppose it's a little lazy…

Mind you, I'd prefer a good sample than a bad cover…i.e. anything by Westlife…
