week 5: i was ill

Didn't really do anything this week. I mentioned the killer headache last time, and it didn't go. The doctor was as useless as i feared he might be. The best he could manage was that me worrying about my headache was causing the headache. Nice. He said if i still had it in 6 weeks time i should come and see him again. I'm glad i don't pay taxes.

Still it seems to have subsided at the moment, so i should be able to work in week 6, I think i've worked out that i have enough time before university starts to make up for losing a week.

Cricket was exciting wasn't it :)

  1. i've had a killer headache since 4:30 this morning, and was verging on going to the doctors this evening about it….don't think i'll bother now! Think i will just lie in a dark room, whimpering to myself in a quest for sympathy!

  2. OK - I don't want anyone to get paranoid here, but severe persistent headache is one of the symptoms of meningitis. Check out the link above and if any of the other symptoms start appearing, get medical help straight away. It's particularly prevalent amongst student populations, so it's worth keeping an eye on each other.

Of course, it could just be a series of hang-overs. Or maybe you're working too hard …
