UK give away money for nothing in return!

Wow!!!! i am shocked by Tony Blair’s need to reach a deal with Europe . not only has he given away 10.5 Billion Euro worth of rebate! But done so without ANY change to the Common Agricultural policy.

This only goes to show that he cares more about his stance in europe than about the African farmers he pretends he cares about. What a shame, I actually thought he would do better! Oh well, yet another disappointment.

  1. He's not giving away the entire rebate is he? I just thought he was forsaking any rebate he get from the fledgling member states?

He's an idiot for not getting something on CAP.

  2. He is not giving away the rebate, but he is sacrificing 10 billion euros worth of it, just to reach an agreement. of course it would be well worth it if the French agreed to CAP cuts, but since there is going to be no such deal its a hopeless deal

  3. Yeh it looks like he has pretty much cocked it up I don't see why he didn't hold out for CAP reforms (though the truth will come out sooner or later about that). I'm just hoping he has an ace up his sleeve, just anything more then a bloody review in a couple of years.

Also he didn't have to scrap part of the rebate entirely to help the fledgling states. He could of waived it until they were strong enough to contribute to it.

  4. He has caved in pretty spectacularly, hasn't he? After all his rhetoric about reform and the need to change; after 'the rebate is non-negotiable' (July 2005).

And the CAP is a disgrace.

  13. Tony Blair was desperate, he could not let this opportunity to strike a deal fail. But seriously what the hell are the french doing for Europe? they should seriously reconsider their position or else be hated by all
