Mono: A Developer's Notebook

3 out of 5 stars

O’Reilly have this intriguing “Developer’s Notebook” series, which come complete with coffee stains already printed on them. This book is notable for being pretty much the only book in Warwick’s library to have content covering GTK+ (well, at least, Gtk#).

The text itself was more general than that; it shows some useful things like getting Mono to install and so on – and touches on some fun stuff like running Java code with Mono. Most of the middle bit was applications programming, and a bunch of stuff about XML and web services.

Well, meh. I think if I really want to get into Gtk# programming some more, I’d be reading existing code.
