Interesting observation on terminology used in media releases

Writing about web page

Boing Boing carry an interesting post on an observation about the terminology used to describe people in the aftermath of Katrina – black looters, white finders.

To be taken with the usual internet pinch of salt I guess, but would I find this surprising? Not really.

Thought for the day

This time next year a England team could be holding…

The Rugby World Cup
The Football World Cup
and The Ashes

wow – what a thought.

could Andrew Murray win Wimbledon as well – now that is really dreaming on.

Graham Beck Viognier

Not done this for a while…

Graham Beck Viognier – nice full and fruity wine with plenty of apricot flavours. Perhaps not as subtle as you might like, but that's South Africa for you. Still, a nice way to enjoy this wonderful variety for under £7 (from sainsburys)

Wondering what to do after Warwick?

Writing about web page

Graduated this summer and at a loss as to what to do next? Maybe this 60s boardgame will help you in your decision making.

How cool would this be

Writing about web page

Apparantly this is all a fake, but just think about it for a minute – just how fantastically cool would this be. Probably the coolest thing in the history of mankind.

Just picture Blair walking into a room to find one of cinemas scariest guys sat there.

Possibly only to be beaten by Rutger Hauer for the head of the UN - now that would be fantastic.

Builders required

Can anyone recommend a good builder/groundwork person to take a look at our driveway. I am struggling to get someone who comes with a previous client seal of approval – Warwick/leamington/stratford area probably better.

So that was the village fete that was

Saturday saw a very wet village fete in Newbold on Stour – similar to a big bash in many ways – lots of people, lots of fun but lots of rain too.

I managed the coconut shy to great effect and we managed to get rid of all the coconuts by the end of the day. Not sure what I would do with half a bag of coconuts – sure that Casey could figure something.

What was nice was this was the first real chance to get into the swing of village life beyond the Aunt Sally team and conversations in the pub – very nice to see so many people giving time and coming along on what was really quite a rotten day. We all ended up pretty soaked, but I think most people enjoyed it.

Only downer was the rather large graze/shallow cut on my arm when picking up one of the signs and catching a rusty nail – lucky I recently boosted my Tetanus jabs in preparation for honeymoon otherwise I would have been looking for a walk-in surgery or a quick trip to A&E.

I'm not a Sheryl Crow fan, but you have to admire this video by Psyop – link courtesy of Coudal

Gently mocking public signs

This was made for friday afternoons – take a gentle browse through this amusing idea and run with it for a bit.
