New, mature, overseas student reflects on life here

I started my MA course in CELTE in English teaching and multi-media on Oct. 2, having been in this country for a grand total of 5 days. Although I am very familiar with England from reading newspapers and I have several times visited London for a few days at a time, I’ve never lived here, and a lot of things have struck me as worthy of comment or just downright weird. I’ll be using this space to vent as the mood strikes me, and I do hope I get many comments in order to understand things better, or perhaps just to feel that I’m not crazy!
