I Can't Quit You Baby
PLEASE UPDATE YOUR BOOKMARKS.
SEE YOU ALL AT: http://tcollyer.blogspot.com.
THAT IS ALL.
So dearest reader, I think this will be my last Friday Puzzles here on Warwick blogs. Why not take a look at my facebook page to learn a little more. You can even, like, like it, or something like that, like. How I loathe the word like. Almost as much as I do the word blog.
Anyhow, more news soon, but be prepared to start updating your bookmarks.
On to this week’s puzzle, another itsy-bitsy Akari puzzle. Because of the small size, I feel duty bound to make it non-trivial, but because of the small size, it isn’t anywhere near being too hard. Enjoy!
[blockquote mark-up still apparently not working. The fact this hasn’t been working for a long long long long long long while is a (small) contributing factor in me moving!]

I’ve not done a decent Nurikabe for a while, dearest reader, and nor have I used my favourite Nurikabe pentomino for a while!
In some Terribly Exciting News, this blog also has a nice new presence on facebook. Have a look here, and if you like, sign up for some facebook based prompts. If nothing else, it should inform you more reliably than RSS when I make an actual update as opposed to a place-holder.
So yes, onto the puzzle. Fairly steady progress, but watch your step. Bit of trivia, remove the 4 and 5 clues from the bottom left, stick in a 6 where it ought to go, and you end up with a similar – although I suppose ultimately easier – puzzle. Enjoy!

Why would you not enjoy putting numbers into a grid? I think this one has sent me slightly mad. If you get this in under 10 minutes I’ll be impressed. If you get it in under 5 then I may have to hunt you down and kill you. Enjoy!
#172 Ripple Effect – rated hard

Tom Collyer writes another easy sudoku? Perhaps I’m not the best judge any more, but it’s certainly not hard. Enjoy!

So no 2012 puzzle this, and maybe some readers will be disappointed to see Kakuro this week. Also, it’s not technically Friday anymore (by a few minutes, but let’s not quibble over silly details like that) so I suppose an apology is due there as well.
Nevertheless, Kakuro is a type I really like, and I think there is plenty of opportunity to be playful with the type from a constructor’s point of view. I must say I quite enjoyed putting this puzzle together, but then again I’m a bad, bad person. Enjoy!

So I think rather than me going on a Thomas S style 2012 theme-athon, the inspiration for this week rather comes from Palmer M’s excellent slitherlink puzzle pack. Still, I do manage to squeeze in quite a few 2012’s there, and I think there’s just about enough in the puzzle to keep things moderately interesting as you are solving. Maybe I’ll think of something for next week too – who knows? Not me, yet, haha. Enjoy!

Delayed I’m afraid, until I get back from my New Year’s jolly in Budapest – which will mean either next Monday or Tuesday realistically.
In the mean time, thanks for sticking around, and I wish you all the best for the 2012!
And I’m back!
Apologies for the delay in updating this, but if you look at it another way you’ll be getting two puzzles in two days. Which is nice. I haven’t seen many 2012 themed puzzles thus far, so I thought what I’d do is fall back onto a theming favourite, yajilin. I’m actually quite pleased with how this one has turned out out. Enjoy!

So I’m afraid it’s only very tame offerings this week, especially compared to last week’s! It’s the usual mix of things to do, places to travel to and from and other projects to work on. On the other hand, I’ve not tried one of these for a while, and it’s nice to know I can still knock them up on demand. Even if it is rather easy. Happy Christmas, dearest reader, and enjoy!

Back to old times eh? I apologise firstly for the delay in getting a puzzle out in the first place, and secondly for then putting out something broken.
No such issues with this one. It’s moderately monstrous. I guess what with the small size and everything, some of the intended logic might get lost in small bifurcation chains, but I want you to know, dearest reader, there is definitely an intended solution path and I am really quite pleased with it.
Enjoy, finally!
