As everyone knows, Superheroes are beings of imense power or with special innate abilities whose driving desire is to protect the weak and innocent. For this reason I decided that for my 22nd birthday me and my friends should dress as superheroes of our own creation and go out and protect the innocent. That and it seemed like it would be good for a laugh.

And so, on the weekend of my birthday Cheese Man, Milk Boy, Budgie (in a Robin costume) and the Raging Inferno gathered at an undisclosed location (along with Leopard and Butterfly Girls, but they didn't go out with us so don't count), and made plans for that evening / drank beer and home-made punch. Then, after copius amounts of alcohol to help keep out the chill, the four brave heroes of the people set out from Leamington to their destination – that den of evil, the Union of Students! The bus ride was amusing to say the least, and although by the time we reached campus we were somewhat colder than we would have liked (tights really aren't very warm – we have no idea how women can stand to go out in skirts!), but soon got the blood pumping strutting our stuff on the dancefloor.

[more will be added later]

Suffice to say that looking back at the night not all that much can be remembered by any of us, although recolections of various heroic poses continue to haunt me…..
