Well, Michael and I got out yesterday. We rode out to Princethorpe wondering if anyone from Rugby would be there... and Martin was, but just to make his apologies and no-one else turned up!

Well, I took my gloves and windproof and had a very pleasant ride whilst Michael was in a short sleeved jersey, constantly trying to warm his hands.

A ride to Cropredy

Well we had a little spin to cropredy in unexpectedly good weather. Sadly, when we reached the Tea Shop this is what we found

The teastop

However, behind us was the brasenose.

which you may recognise from this, if you know Fairport Convention.

Current Weather

The weather station on the roof is here.

It can't tell you what the weather will be, but at least you'll know what it has been.

As I write this it's cold out there.

Around Rugby

So....... lets meet at the pump in Princethorpe princethorpe.jpgat 10:00 on Saturday for a spin. I'm sure that we can find somewhere for refreshment, Swinford looks likely.

All–Star Ride

Here's a gpx file for a possible ride on Saturday 14 Jan:

alcester120114.gpx-perhaps someone who knows about such things could produce a map?

You can download the route and view it at www.bikehike.co.uk

The route heads West from Kenilworth to Wroxall and then turns South-West through Losenford, Preston Green, Little Alne and Walcote to Alcester before turning South to Bidford-on-Avon via Wixford. We then head East towards Stratford, stopping at Carriages for tea before taking in the Greenway. From Stratford, it's Wellesbourne, Ashorne, Harbury, along the B4452 and then Welsh Road to Cubbington and Kenilworth.

I've put it on my SatNav but if anyone has a better plan (especially for the return route) then upload it. There is an escape route if we need it: re-fuel at Wellesbourne and then Hampton Lucy and Fullbrook Lane to Warwick and on through Leek Wooton to Kenilworth.

Shakespeare 100

Michael and Roger went out for a spin on the shakespeare 100 (the shakespeare 120 for michael since he rode to the start)

A couple of cyclists

A windy day. The latter part was a grim struggle going west until we reached Mickelton, turned north and found ourselves doing 20mph towards home despite the weary legs.
