A topical blog

I direct you to the news article on the Union website. Please try not to have a riot on my blog. The policy being put forward will be available at some point tomorrow morning. I trust given the discussion had on blogs so far about this issue we shouldn't have too much trouble getting it quorate.
Other than that it's been a busy day. I spent much of the day interviewing, so that's two days of interviews in a row. One on each side of the table.
The rest of the day was spent dealing with my inbox from yesterday (on average I get about 30–40 emails a day).
As ever anything you want to ask a sabbatical you can, but if you could refrain from it being AUT related that'd be grand!
Can you tell us the gist of the policy being proposed – does it weaken the Union's stance or scrap it altogether?

OK, given the Union's "don't mention the strike" thing…
Can you give us some more Final Fling details (particularly buses, and how often they are and whether they are returning to Leam after)?

Oh I want to know about buses too, but I need to know whether students in Kenilworth are being totally ignored as usual or whether there will be some kind of transportation back home!!

It's more of a Nick don't mention the strike thing if I'm honest.
Fling buses: Basically when going to Fling buses leave from Library Road, there is a time on your ticket, there are dozens of buses, you queue up you get on. In the late evening buses will start running from 12 midnight. We can't give an exact time for each one because they basically just cycle, I'm told though it should be around every 20 minutes. I'm afraid they don't go back to Kenilworth Eleanor, your best bet will be going back to campus and sharing a taxi back from there, or arranging to stay with a friend
Hope that helps.
Nick

Just out of interest, why does the students union, and the university in general, not care at all about students living in Kenilworth – there are more of us than you seem to think, yet we get none of the benefits that students in Leam or Cov get, no convenient buses late at night (no those pink buses do not go through Kenilworth) no housing advice during housing season, nothing. What is that about?
