Writing about web page

I've been playing with Gmail for a little while, and actually I quite like it. I've never before taken to web-based email systems, but I can see me sticking with this.

Anyway, I've been given the opportunity to invite a few friends. If there's anybody out there that hasn't got a gmail account already and wants to give it a go, the address to send the bottles to is…

But seriously, drop me an email and I'll send you an invite. First come first served – I only have three to give away, so be quick!

"Each message is grouped with all its replies and displayed as a conversation" – i like that idea!

All invites gone, I'm afraid. If I get anymore, I'll be sure to let you know!

  3. Blimey, that was quick. I look forward to trying it out. Who else got them?

Yes, the conversation thing works very well, for lots of reasons.

I also like the idea of not filing messages in folders. I've never come across a foolproof way of filing messages so that I can always find them again, so often have to search. Which is unfortunate when the email system in question is groupwise:–) But, with Google's search technology you really can afford to search for everything, and it is as instant as web searching. Never lose an email again!

The SPAM filter seems to be pretty effective too. Very few false positives or false negatives, and reporting these mistakes is pretty effective at making them not happen again.

    More later, maybe…

No, they didn't last long, did they. Now I know who spends their day watching Warwick Blogs and not doing any work:–) I actually gave out four, not three (I was saving one for somebody, but they didn't want it).

I'll let people own up if they want to – I won't name names!!
