Sector News Blog – IFL fees

Unions reach deal over IfL fees FE Focus, Times Educational Supplement, 10 June 2011

Here is some figures that I got from various professional bodies. The average nurse earns around £22 - 24K per year. Professional fees payable - £195 per year. The average GP earns £42k per year(NHS Salary). Professional fees payable - £420 per year. The average college teacher earns 23k per year. Proposed professional fees £68 for 18 months, now £38 for a year. If post 16 teachers want professional status they have to pay professional fees. They are a great deal cheaper compared with most other professions. In law, vetinary medicine, dentistry, optometry and all other professions the fees are far higher in proportion to average salaries than the IfL are charging. I paid my fees. As such I will pay £6 less over 2 years than those who chose not to.
