Brit Award Nominations

Well its that time of year again when we find out who have been the 'success' stories of the year and i was intrigued by the results. In many ways it wasnt exactly rocket science who was going to be nominated but the Kaiser Chiefs up for 5 awards! I think someone is having abit of a laugh really. My predictions then

British male solo artist: Should be Ian Brown but I think Robbie might clinch it again(where does he put all those bloody awards!)

British Female solo artist:Should be KT Tunstall(her voice is stunning) but I think Katie Melua might get it (all together "There are 9 million bicycles in Bejiing…)

British group: I think Hard Fi should get after the year theyve had but Coldplay will prob jump in there after their average 'x and y' doing so well.

British single: This is going to sound sad but of whats there I'd probably support James Blunt "You're beautiful" because it was the song of the summer and with so much bad stuff going on it was just a simple love song. Shayne Ward will prob get it tho…bloody reality tv strikes again!

British Breakthrough Act: I'm totally torn here, I wanna say KT Tunstall but at the same time I'm dragged towards the Arctic Monkeys. Both of which are fab! Oh well, so long as the Kaisers dont get it

British Urban act: I'm not that fussed but out of all of them Lemar is prob the best singer. Bet Dizzie Rascal gets it tho

British rock act: I love Hard Fi, I love Oasis. whats a girl to do??? As long as one of them wins.

Best British Live Act: Oasis. No more needs to be said.

Pop Act: James Blunt for being unashamedly pop and kinda good

International Male Solo Artist: Jack Johnson because its an ace album and reminds me of summer

International Female Solo Artist: Kelly Clarkson. Shes the only one I can stand

International Group: The critic in me says arcade fire but my ipod suggests U2 and the pop-punk in me says greenday. Either

International Album: Arcade fire. "Funeral" is bloody good. As for U2, that album got released in 2004 so how does that count? Kanye will prob win it tho.

International breakthrough act: Arcade Fire again

Contribution to music: Paul Weller.. well deserved and I love the Jam!!!*

  1. Arcade Fire won't get best album despite Funeral being the best thing released last year. It's just not high profile (read: "big selling") enough for the corporate morons who decide the Brits. They should get best breakthrough though as they're the only artists from that category to be in general best album.

Pity they aren't performing at the show. That would blow the socks off everyone.
