The Editors

Writing about web page

In the absence of time to write loads of stuff that I need to catch up on, have a read about hot new Brum band The Editors at the link above.

  1. I really hope they get big because then I can take the piss out of my friends for missing not just the Killers but also the Editors (then called Snowfield) when they played the Union in November 2003. It also helps that they rule.

  2. They had a single ('This Disease' featured a lot in the lyrics, may or may not be the title) that was played a lot on 6Music a while back, I liked it.
I remember liking Snowfield as well, but wasn't aware they were the same band- nice one :)

  3. Editors rock! Woo!

    /end of silly fan noises.

  4. :) I caught them supporting Embrace as part of Carling Live 24 (alongside The Subways). Holly Cruise I am impressed by your finger on the pulse tendencies towards music. Welcome to the fold of all things musically tantalising…hmm, writing arts essays makes me awfully wordy.

  5. Me? I'm just an indie snob with a panchant (spelt wrong no doubt) for the obscure. Watch me next week as I declare Maximo Park too high profile and try to convince everyone to listen to the Artic Monkeys and Hard-Fi. I blame the weather where I grew up.

  6. :) The Little Flames are supporting Arctic Monkeys on their tour. Also check out The Suzukis.

  7. I know better than to try and out-indie an RaW uberlord (though I am the only person I know who owns Mo-Ho-Bish-O-Pi's album). Still, the Artic Monkeys and Little Flames? Sounds like a decent tour to me, and how many of my friends will come with me? None. My brother had better get the grades to get into UCE as he's the only person I know whose arm I can twist with any taste.

  8. You've definitely got me there! Well I hail from Dudley so I will always be around if you need a gig going companion.

(Also I'll confess that I only knew about Arctic Monkeys because I spent yesterday evening with The Little Flames ;))

  9. I'll second the vote for Hard-fi (The Editors song just came on the radio, how funny!), Cash Machine is so dance-inducing. I had their EP ordered, but then they went and changed label and stopped sending them out, so have to wait til July 4th (I think…) now :|

  10. Is this the same Suzukis from Wigan? Bless 'em, didn't realise they were getting big!
Big up the home town music though, and check out Free Mojo while you're there!

  12. Hey Natalie, how do you know the Suzukis from Wigan? They are sort of big, The Little Flames like them and have thusly dragged them on their tour. We did some home-town bonding, we were all born in Billinge hospital. I got a bit overexcited, noone down here ever has a clue where I'm on about.

  13. Mill

Surely Hard-fi are on if not getting close to the over-exposed category?

I saw them when they supported The Bravery (who are a singles band by the way kids, very poor album tracks) and they rocked the socks off the annoying trendy ikes who frequent so many of the gigs I go to.

They were rather good at the Camden Crawl and got a big "WWWWoooooooOOOOOO" when they said "We're from West London, Sttttaaines" sorry grating accent, the lead singer incidently looks like a cross between The Hobby Master and Ian Brown.
