Unuseable Apliication Forms

Writing about web page http://www.leeds.ac.uk/students/appfmweb.doc

Alot of people will have been applying for jobs and further study recently but I would just like to draw you all to what is probably the most stupid application form ever imagined… and whats if for…. "postgraduate study at leeds university".

Whats the problem you say… its clearly a word doc which means that you can type your replies into the boxes provided (ilistrated by the gray boxes). But obviously this form was designed by someone who had never filled in an application form because you are required to insert the address of your referneces but there isn't enough space so

Dept of Physics
University of Warwick
Coventry
CV4 7AL

get truncated to

Dept of Physics
University Of Warwick
Coven

Which is probably a short refence… my long one is

Offshore Technology Centre
SIMS, Building 56B, Cranfield University
Cranfield, MK43 0AL

Which get truncated even before you've found out what uni its from.
Whats worse is you are asked for which school and department you are applying for…
So it's

School of Mechanical Engineering
Medical and Biological department

Which is as far is i can see becomes

School of Mecha
nical Engineeri
ng

Useful….
(sorry about the spellin my keyboard doesn't cope well with rage)

p.s. few that feels better… blogging, the new electronic stress ball

    Hi Spooner

I know this is several weeks late and you've probably worked it out but for future reference: go to the Tools menu and click Unprotect Document. You can then un-bold and resize cells etc.

A ridiculous form none the less.
