I heard rumours ITV were dropping the cock next year. But yeah, Brundle's bias shines through often enough (he mananges Coulthard and rarely has a bad word to say about him).

How about Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond? I think it'd be brilliant.

Clarkson would be awesome, massively cynical, but you'd probably need a driver with him instead of Hammond. Personally I reckon the person who should do it is Jardine, but I'm not sure they'd let him, or some unknown off of Motors TV

  5. I agree on Jardine Mat – I always think that he's pretty under-used and ITV would do well to give him a more prominent role in the line-up. I reckon an ex-driver such as Herbert or Hill would be great as well, someone who doesn't necessarily tow the line all the time…

  6. Oh dear, what coverage are you lot watching?! Jardine's always been rubbish with no valuable (or accurate) comment. Hill would be interesting but is understandably anti-Schumacher (as well as being quite boring); Herbert now works as a press officer-type chappie for Midland F1, and Clarkson and Hammond would only try to make themselves look funny at the cost of any perspective or accuracy.

And Brundle… he's great! He knows far more about the sport than the rest of the ITV team put together, knows all the important figures in F1 and is respected by all of them (gets all the inside information). He may be slightly favourable towards DC - although I think he's been told to tone it down this season, and has done so – but nowhere near as much as all of ITV is hugely pro-Button.

  7. lol. I'd keep Brundle but give Ben Edwards a go, he at least seems to know what he's talking about. I'd also poach people from other sports, get Jon Desborough doing something – the guy's pure comedy. And get Ned Boulting from the Championship/Tour de France – great reporter.

  8. Why is there this obsession for impartial commentary? In particular, I for one am unsurprised nor bothered in the slightest for British commentators to get behind British drivers. Excessive bias I'll grant is a pain, especially negative bias as opposed to positive support for one driver/team, but a little bit doesn't hurt in my opinion.
