This 10-hour course has been designed for the following target audience:
- Learners for whom English is a Second or Foreign Language and who want to learn or develop short story writing skills
- Teachers of English as a Second or Foreign Language who teach or wish to teach short story writing to ESL students in their respective environments
The most significant value of creative writing is the exploration into self which it provides. When we articulate our feelings or ideas about a certain matter on paper, we tend to discipline our minds into orderly thinking about that subject. That is why college and university teachers so frequently assign term papers and other writing projects which call for the discipline of organized thought process. This course, therefore, is intended to help participants approach their written work creatively, methodically and confidently. It is also meant for those who just wish to attend to their long-ignored short story writing itches.
The purpose of this course is NOT to help learners develop grammatical excellence, but content.
All course participants will be expected to participate actively!
