Do you wish you were somewhere else?

Do you wish you were somewhere else? Do you wish you were someone else but in the same place or maybe you wish you were someone else and somewhere else.

The reason I ask is that I recently had a conversation in which it was put to me that "Most people at warwick wish that they were somewhere else".

Is this generalisation true? Probably not.

I think everyone would like to be somewhere/someone else at some point in their life. I think the difference that exists between people is that while for some this feeling may last only for an instant, for others it can last a lifetime.

  1. I wish I was doing another course. Possibly Natural Sciences at Durham (I rejected them). But then, I really like Warwick as a place. It's just the physics that sucks.

  2. I'd say that was a large generalisation. Most Warwick students of my acquaintance are perfectly happy here and hate the thought of leaving… well, apart from a few who wished they'd got into Oxbridge.

  3. Having completed my MA and left Warwick, I like going back there even tho only left two months ago. But during my year there I took every opportunity to get away. I found it can be slightly claustrophobic, especially as a Postgrad. I think it's different if you do your undergrad there tho.

  4. The weird thing is that we all wish we were somewhere else…warwick is as good place as any and that is a truth…the trick is to always be somewhere else psychologically so you are happy anywhere u are located…
