Post Christmas

Christmas was good. I was at home with the family and had a christmas pretty much like last year. Nothing special but it was good.

I now have a DAB clock radio and a Digital Freeview Set-Top Box so I’m right up there in the digital age now :).

I’ve just been to Tesco and on the bus on the way back home I saw another rubbish sign on the bus.

Bus Sign

Mayo

It’s hard to take a good photo on a moving bus with a rubbish camera but you can just about make it out. It says “Please do not speak to or obscure the driver’s vision while the bus is moving” which is not what they mean atall. Rubbish!

I also made a great discovery of some mayo in Tesco. Not very exciting for most people but I love Heinz mayo. Previously I could only get hold of it by nicking handfulls of the little sachets (pictured) from restaurants and bars. Now I’ve found the bottles at Tesco my dream has come true. OK so I have to get the “Light” stuff because of the amount I eat but it’s still very good mayo and half price at the moment.

You may think me sad but, hey.

Fairytale Of New York

This just got me so riles that I had to take a couple of moments out of my work day to blog it.
I just heard on the news that BBC Radio 1 have censored Fairytale of New York by removing the words “Faggot” and “Slag”. Listen here.

If I felt like it I’m sure I could come up with a whole list of words that Radio 1 boradcast that are far worse than those two.
It’s just rediculous.

Oh, and a by-point, Fairytale of New York is not a Christmas song, it is just a song that happens to be set at Christmas time. Kirsty McColl said so herself.

Happy Christmas

I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a

Happy Christmas

as today is the 25th November.

We are having a full turkey roast and will probably eating turkey sandwiches 'til the end of term. I have heard that one kitchen is cooking a 12–16 person turkey for 12 of them. We cooked a 8–10 person turkey last friday and there is still some left a week later.
We have had stockings already with sweets and little presents and we are giving secret santa presents later.

Enjoy the day everyone.
