Why the butterfly effect is a bad film

1. It's too much like donnie darko to be called original
2. It's very, very depressing
3. It has the cheesest ending in the world.

Anyone care to disagree?

  1. ROAAAARRRRR!!!
Butterfly Effect rules. More than Cleopatra did.
A fecked up film, granted, depressing cos there are people that fecked up out there, but I bet if it were a steam roller it could do some serious flatteningage.
And Donnie Darko is completely different. For a start, what the hell? And secondly, it is, therefore it is qed.

Oh my god! I can't believe you said that! It is such a clever film. I love the butterfly effect and i love donnie darko and yeah they have the same sorta f*cked up time travel theme and they both make you think, but i really dont think they're that similar.
All I would say though is that apparently there are quite a few mistakes in The Butterfly Effect that if you did want to go through the film and pick at it (which I personally don't feel the need to do) you could notice them quite easily!

I can't see how the ending is the cheesiest in the world. Obviously I wouldn't like to spoil it for anyone, but surely a cheesy ending would be one where nobody had to make any sacrifices in order for things to turn out OK.

  4. Yeah

I thought it was OK…but the ending is kinda cheesy. Plus, for him to have control over himself in womb is almost too conveinient. Super-depressing ending, in that he wouldve made it right with a few more jump oppotunities.
