Laughter

I saw an advert last night about a car. It said it fulfilled a human need to have fun. This got me wondering did cavemen laugh? and if so what at? Did they make each other laugh on purpose?
HP reckons they probably cried when they were sad but does that mean they would use laughter when they were happy? mmmmmmm…
