Lent
A lot of people give up something for lent. I do, even though I am not religious.
This year, in keeping with the tradition of the last 5 years or so, I have given up chocolate. As a chocolate lover this can be a difficult task but I always manage it. However I do not always manage it without complaining a lot.
This year I have been a lot better. I have hardly complained at all because I haven't had any cravings. Mabye this year will be easy.
I eat a lot of chocolate the rest of the year, so I think it is good for me to have a break. It makes me feel healthier and more energetic. Using that logic I should stop eating chocolate altogether, or at least practice a bit more restraint. However think I would struggle to do this. It is easier for me to give it up completely for a set period of time so I have something to aim for.
Although I will try and be for restrained for the rest of the year too.
Until then: cakes, sweets and mangoes are the way to go.
