Why the exclusivity?

Writing about web page

I have just published and subsequently deleted a test post that was meant to test the pingback and trackback facility to external blogs.

While at least trackback works internally, neither do with external blogs, neither inbound nor outbound.

I find that's a shame as it seperates the Warwick blogs from those in the rest of the world and thus goes against what the blog community is all about.

I don't think that the external blog trackbacks are done yet. It is planned, but i'm not sure when for.

  2. Rob's right, in case you were not aware, this is just a test system, you are one of the lucky few to have a blog so far. New features are appearing all the time, external trackbacks are on the still to come list.

  3. Oh ok. I blindly assumed that implementing trackbacks could only work universally, for any blog, anywhere and that access to external blogs would have to be blocked in some way. Obviously delusional, looks like the reality is quite different. My bad.

Anyhoo, I just discovered the forum about this blog system, so will post these things there in the future…
